Our client is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire and due to increased workload they are seeking for additional support in their finance function. The role will help the team to ensure a robust control environment while delivering accurate, timely results in an efficient manner, enabling Finance as a whole to effectively partner the business.

The key responsibilities will be -

* Assist in ensuring that the financial close is completed each month according to the
timetable
* Ensure that numbers reported to Group are accurate and timely.
* Areas specific to the Operational Accounting team include:-
o Fixed Assets relate to authorised capital expenditure, recognised as in service at
the appropriate time and accounted for according to Group accounting policies
o GRNI balances are an accurate reflection of goods and services received not yet
invoiced
o VAT reporting and submissions are completed on an accurate, timely basis and properly
accounted for
o Intercompany accounting is completed according to the Group Intercompany Accounting
Policy, with discrepancy resolution completed in line with the monthly timetable
o Prepayments & Accruals are properly recorded and released on a timely basis
o Accounting for Payroll related costs and liabilities is effectively and accurately
reflected
o Revaluations, Allocations, Recharges and Month End Ledger control is accurate and
executed in accordance with the monthly timetable
o Filing and other finance operations admin duties
* Provide assistance to ensure the General Ledger control environment is robust, with key
controls operating and appropriately evidenced.

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA or equivalent. You will have previous experience of working within a corporate finance team, have excellent attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
