A rapidly growing FMCG organisation in Woking is looking for a Credit Controller to join their busy finance department on a temp to perm basis. Operating out of modern offices in Woking town centre, this thriving PE-backed business has boomed in recent months, leading to increased workload and the need for additional headcount. The Credit Control team is set to double in size as the company’s client base expands and their financial exposure increases. While the Credit Control Assistant will initially be engaged as a temporary worker, there is a long-term opportunity here, and the right individual could be made permanent within a matter of weeks.

What will the Credit Controller role involve?

  • Daily review and allocation of debtor receipts (BACS/cheque); clearing down the suspense account on a weekly basis.
  • Call debtors and collect cash more than 14 days old, updating debtor spreadsheet with monies received, and sending copy invoices / issuing credit notes when required.
  • Investigate, track, and resolve debtor queries, liaising with Accounts Receivable, Ops Managers and line manager.
  • Participate in weekly Debtors Meeting with Finance Management.
  • Support with provision of bad debt on a weekly / quarterly basis.
  • Run new Aged Debtors Report on a weekly basis.

Suitable Candidate for the Credit Controller vacancy:

  • Solid background in Credit Control, with an excellent track record of recovering outstanding and aged debt.
  • First rate interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Confident, assertive telephone manner with excellent spoken English.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel user (pivot tables and lookups).
  • Available to start at short notice – 1 week or less.
