Finance Director

CMA Executive are exclusively partnering with an exciting high growth Brewery based in Berkshire, in their search for a dynamic Finance Director to assist the business with its development and expansion goals. 

Entrepreneurial and innovative, backed by a private wealth management firm, they have plans to achieve significant growth over the next few years by expanding the craft beer range and increasing on-trade and eCommerce sales.

As part of the growth strategy the business is now seeking a highly motivated Finance Director to take on full P&L responsibility and play a critical role as part of the management team.

Reporting to the Managing Director the Finance Director will actively engage in all financial decisions across the business to drive efficiencies and improve operational performance.  This is a rare opportunity to join an expanding dynamic company. 

What will the Finance Director role involve?

• Key leadership in the preparation and update of the long, and short range strategic financial plan, working with business and functional leaders to understand market conditions and competitive environments to provide direction on underlying assumptions.
• Work with the team to ensure that short-term, mid-term, and long-term actions support the long-range strategic plans and that activities are robust, well understood, and actionable.
• Develop and manage working capital requirements, maximising cash whilst minimising debt and taxation.
• Lead the annual budgeting process for the company, including the rolling up and analysis of the budgets.
• Drive continuous process improvement in budgeting, reporting, and analysis, ensuring a clear linkage of budget activities with strategic initiatives.
• Analyse financial trends and business drivers, including the isolation of factors contributing to negative and positive trends.

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Director vacancy:

• The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and highly commercial qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a background that would encompass experience in breweries, hospitality and/or food & beverage manufacturing. 

• We would consider an individual keen to step into their first Finance Director position, as we would a more experienced candidate.

• An energetic and collaborative leader with gravitas and an approachable style.
• Being happy to muck in and roll up sleeves as required, you will thrive in a small entrepreneurial and fast paced business and have retained the ability to be hands on and in the detail.
• You will be a proactive commercial business partner with effective influencing skills and a demonstrable track record of adding value. 
• Diplomatic with a high level of emotional intelligence you will challenge constructively and strive for continuous improvements. 
• Previous experience in the brewery (or a complementary) sector is preferred.
