A well established and hugely successful SME retail organisation in the Walton-on-Thames area is looking for a confident, collaborative Finance Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of their finance department. 

Initially, you will manage one member of staff; however, there is scope to grow the team as company turnover has the potential to triple under the guidance of their interim CFO, a true visionary who needs an equally revolutionary second in command to assist him in achieving this goal. 

The role would suit an accomplished Management Accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career, and who possesses the verve, drive and inspirational leadership skills requiredto elevate the finance function within the business and help scale an already booming enterprise. 

What will the Finance Manager role involve? 

  • Management Accounting, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Accruals & Prepayments, Budgeting & Forecasting, Cash Flow and Management Reporting. 

  • Supervising an AAT qualified member of staff and overseeing their transactional duties e.g. Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Bank Reconciliations.

  • Assisting the interim CFO in implementing robust financial processes and controls. 

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Manager vacancy: 

  • Solid experience in Management Accounting. 

  • Outgoing, collaborative, confident personality; able to engage with and influence the business owners, elevate and grow the finance department. 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a finance team (previous managerial experience not required). 

  • AAT Level 4 / Part Qualified active studier (CIMA preferred) / Qualified Accountant. 

  • Short notice period – 1 month or less.
