Professional Services Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire have a newly created position for a Finance Manager to assist the Finance Director in the day to day management of the finance function.

As the business is effectively a start-up, the main responsibilities of the position will include all aspects of finance including assisting with the production of the financial statements; preparation of the monthly management accounts including reporting on any variances to forecast; review and implementation of internal processes and controls; liaising with external third parties including financial institutions and auditors and ad hoc project work as and when required.

Applicants for the position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification or be in the latter stages of their studies. They must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment for a business which is growing rapidly and from a task perspective be prepared to be hands on at all of levels of accounting whilst at the same time have working knowledge of current standards including FRS 102. Advanced Excel skills are essential and previous experience of working within a professional or financial services environment would be highly advantageous.
