CMA Recruitment Group is proud to be representing a well-known corporate organisation in the Fareham area with the recruitment of a Payroll Manager on a 12-month interim basis.

This is a pivotal role within the function leading the Payroll Service and Technical teams responsible for delivering an outstanding payroll service to the business. The role will lead the day to day operations of the Payroll function and review payroll processes to ensure efficiencies and improve performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership of team, leading the team in a period of significant change and ensuring the right levels of performance, development and support and in place;
  • Manage high volume Payroll activity and work alongside the Payroll Compliance Manager to ensure the day to day Service is compliant with all applicable legislation;
  • Build and deliver a continuous improvement plan for improving the colleague experience, through understanding Payroll processes;
  • Where appropriate and required, agree and defining the KPIs and SLAs within which the overall Payroll teams will work. Tracking progress and taking action as required;
  • Provide support and assistance for Managers where required including the creation of tools, templates and training materials to aid the understanding of local responsibility for processing data to support Payroll delivery;
  • Work in partnership with the Global People Technology team, Finance, Pensions and Tax teams in order to ensure that the service provided is efficient, effective and accurate for our colleagues.

Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally CIPP qualified with previous experience of managing payroll teams and promoting continuous process improvement.

Candidates who are not qualified or do not have the required management experience may still be considered if they have a strong technical understanding payroll as this knowledge can be used to improve processes across the function whilst other managers take on elements of the responsibility for managing the team.
