Financial Controller

Distribution Group based in Waterlooville, Hampshire, has a requirement for a Financial Controller to work closely with the senior management team to play a crucial role in shaping financial and operational strategy.

What will the Financial Controller role involve?
Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director, the key responsibilities will include:

• Undertake day-to-day ownership of the group’s financial processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.
• Production of accurate and timely financial statements and ensure all balance sheets are accurately reconciled with supporting schedules.
• To be responsible for the group’s cash and working capital position on a daily basis and to prepare rolling cashflow forecasts.
• Liaison with the company’s clearing bank and Asset Based Lending provider, including monthly covenant reporting.
• Positively influence the strategic health and direction of the business by using financial data and KPI’s to provide insights to support decision making.

Suitable Candidate for the Financial Controller vacancy:

• Applicants for the position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of undertaking a similar position within an SME environment.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to act as a Finance Business Partner to the wider business will be essential to undertake the role successfully as strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
