Brief

E&J Capital Partners (“E&J”) are an established and respected specialist Property Fund Management business, which having secured significant investment, were looking to identify their first Finance Director to partner the CEO, drive growth and deliver a number of key strategic projects.

CMA met with the E&J leadership team, and after a comprehensive review meeting was appointed on an exclusive basis to deliver this business critical recruitment exercise.

Search Parameters

The key challenge was to identify a candidate with a combination of skills including: specialist knowledge of the fund management sector, experience of delivering complex strategic projects and a credible track record with city institutions.

CMA drafted both the job description and person specification in partnership with E&J. An in-depth knowledge of the local executive market, combined with our extensive network of professional contacts, ensured CMA were able to deliver a tailored short list.

Outcome

Following a detailed competency based first interview process, CMA presented five candidates with the requisite knowledge and experience. A three stage interview process then followed, meeting with the CEO and other significant stakeholders.

The E&J leadership team selected their preferred candidate at the conclusion of the three stage process and in conjunction with the CMA team, the CEO structured a suitable package, including a performance related bonus. By providing an in depth knowledge of the remuneration landscape within the region, CMA helped to ensure a smooth transition from initial instruction to offer and acceptance.
