Financial Controller

Our client, an independent and pioneering entity based in Basingstoke, is poised for significant expansion.  CMA is exclusively engaged to facilitate the recruitment of a Financial Controller, a newly established position aimed at bolstering the company's growth trajectory.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the continued modernisation of the accounts department whilst providing financial advice and information to the leadership team to develop and maintain financial and investment strategies.

What will the Financial Controller role involve?

• Responsible for the full month end close including preparation of monthly consolidated financial results.
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the whole business.
• Control of the sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, stock, bank and cash for the business.
• Drive improvements in systems, processes and procedures using time saving technology wherever possible.
• Cash flow forecasting and manage customer and supplier account queries.
• Completion of the VAT Return, liaison with auditors, tax advisers, bank and HMRC
• Manage payroll and all intercompany transactions.
• Support subsidiary accounting in conjunction with the in-country local support.
• Ad hoc projects.

Suitable Candidate for the Financial Controller vacancy:

• Hands on accountant with an affiliation for SME environments.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
• Demonstrating ambition and stretch potential to step up to become the future FD of the business in time.
• In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Any international exposure would be a benefit.
