Play a pivotal role in financial leadership during business transformation – as Interim Goup Finance Director.
Our client, a provider of supported living services in Dorset, is currently undergoing strategic business transformation and financial restructuring. With new leadership in place, the organisation is focused on addressing financial pressures and repositioning itself for long-term stability and growth.
We are seeking a dynamic Interim Group FD on a 12-month (with the option for longer term/permanent) contract to lead the finance function and support the executive team through this critical period. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of a mission-driven organisation that provides housing and care for vulnerable individuals across the UK.
What will the Interim CFO role involve?
- Lead the finance function through restructuring and realignment of business strategy
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and board
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, regulators, and auditors
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management during this transitional phase
- Ensure financial compliance and reporting across a regulated environment
- Support the finance team, instilling structure, clarity, and forward-looking analysis
- Assist in developing and evaluating new business models and funding opportunities
- Play a hands-on role in stabilising finances while enabling future growth
Suitable Candidate for the Interim CFO vacancy:
- Proven experience as CFO or Finance Director in a restructuring, turnaround, or special situations environment
- Strong technical accounting and commercial finance skills
- Experience working with or within the social housing, healthcare, or regulated sectors desirable
- Understanding of complex financial environments and stakeholder negotiations
- Comfortable leading a small finance team and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at board level
- Resilient, pragmatic, and able to navigate complex, fast-evolving environments
