CMA are pleased to be assisting our established, rapidly expanding client with the recruitment of an experienced Credit Controller.  The business is based in central Basingstoke, Hampshire.  This is a newly created role, supporting the Finance Manager and CFO in a busy and exciting environment.

What will the Credit Controller role involve?

  • Collecting debt owed by various entities. This will be done through a combination of phone calls, emails and letters.
  • Improving procedures to ensure debt is chased on a regular basis and reducing the value of older debt.
  • Reconciling sales ledger accounts, particularly those funded by local authorities.
  • Working with the Finance Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Managers and Regional Operations Managers to collect the more difficult debt.
  • Working with the Managers to ensure agreements and direct debits are in place wherever possible.

Suitable Candidate for the Credit Controller vacancy:

  • Previous credit control experience.
  • Good understanding of an accounts department.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.  Experience of Oracle Netsuite would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Able to listen to customers and negotiate solutions in an empathetic way.
  • Previous experience of collecting debt from local authority customers/individual members of the public.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
