Temp support is a wonderfully rewarding field to work in – whether providing interim finance or temporary HR support. We have continued to see a strong demand for a temporary workforce across the South Coast, Thames Valley and Surrey areas over 2023.

We think it’s important to recognise these amazing workers. CMA Temp of the Year 2023 celebrates the resilience, flexibility and great attitude of contractors on the CMA register for the work done in the past 12 months.

This year we received a number of nominations from across CMA’s five offices for both HR and Accountancy and Finance. The successful nominees were those interim workers who have gone beyond the call of duty to provide an exceptional interim service that has truly added value to their team, company and role.

After conducting interviews with the nominees’ line managers, we narrowed it down. We are delighted to be able to reveal the winners below…

Accountancy and Finance CMA Temp of the Year: Astrid Shepherd

CMA Divisional Manager Lindsey Edwards said: “Astrid has been a trusted interim worker for CMA for the past 10 years. Not only does she deliver over and above on all her assignments, but she also has an amazing ability to connect and pull teams together. Her flexible outlook, commitment to producing high quality work and her friendly, inclusive approach ensures we are always keeping her busy! She is a great ambassador for CMA and an out and out lovely person!”

Astrid had this to say: “Oh WOW! Really? But I just do what I love and CMA looks after me, so I look after them. Thank you so much for starting my week with a wonderful warm fuzzy feeling.”

Accountancy and Finance Honourable Mention: Louise Moody

Louise registered with CMA after relocating to the South Coast. CMA Senior Consultant Danielle-Jade Neil says: “I knew as soon as I met her she would do a great job in any business she joined. She has a brilliant work ethic, warm and friendly demeanour and is a real pleasure to deal with.”

Our client had this to say: “I’m so pleased that Louise received recognition in the Temp of the Year awards. Louise has only been with us since September, but the impact she has had on the finance team and the whole company is definitely something to be celebrated. Louise is our northern ray of sunshine and we are lucky to have her.”

HR CMA Temp of the Year: Paula Slater

Paul is a Human Resources Advisor and has been in her current contract for almost a year. CMA’s Head of the HR Division Alasdair Risk said: “I was thrilled to present Paula with this award as it’s a testament to her dedication and support to the team in her role. She has turned a temporary assignment into a lasting success story!”

Paula was really pleased with her award: “I’m delighted to be recognised with the Temp of the Year award, the team here have been amazing and very supportive, I’ve really enjoyed working with them.”
