An established and well-respected family run organisation is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations across a diverse portfolio. This role will be between 25-30 hours a week. 

This is a varied, hands-on role offering genuine responsibility, autonomy, and regular interaction external accountants, and professional advisers. Based in a professional, close-knit environment, the role would suit someone who enjoys breadth, ownership, and working within a stable, long-term setting.

What will the Bookkeeper role involve?

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping.
  • Managing multiple bank accounts and preparing regular cashflow forecasts.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations (with external support as required).
  • Running Sage payroll, including HMRC submissions, pensions and end-of-year processes.
  • Preparing information for annual accounts and liaising with external accountants.
  • Preparing financial reports for quarterly Board with attendance as required.

Suitable Candidate for the Bookkeeper vacancy:

  • Proven experience in a broad bookkeeping or financial administration role.
  • Comfortable working across multiple entities.
  • Confident payroll experience including HMRC and pension submissions.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers and advisers.
