A PE-backed financial services group with an acquisitional growth strategy is looking to hire a Divisional Head of Finance into its Southampton hub. This role offers real breadth, strong visibility, and the chance to influence how finance supports a scaling group.
You’ll take end-to-end responsibility for a portfolio of entities, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and a central finance function, with a clear remit around reporting, controls, insight and continuous improvement.
What will the Head of Finance role involve?
- Oversee monthly management accounts and board reporting for a portfolio of subsidiaries, ensuring accurate, timely outputs
- Develop and produce management information that gives leaders clarity on performance, trends and commercial drivers
- Lead cashflow reporting, budgets and forecasts, supporting performance monitoring across the division
- Oversee management accountants and transactional finance resource across AP, AR, payroll, plus maintaining and developing the general ledger
- Liaise with auditors and tax specialists, ensuring robust and risk-appropriate tax and VAT planning and wider compliance reporting
Suitable Candidate for the Divisional Head of Finance vacancy:
- Qualified accountant with strong end-to-end finance ownership experience and the confidence to operate with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable combining technical rigour with commercial insight, including a clear understanding of how KPIs and drivers translate into financial outcomes
- Track record across core compliance areas (payroll, VAT, P11D and HMRC reporting)
- Strong systems and data mindset (Xero and Excel experience valuable), with an interest in modern reporting and emerging tools
- Experience in financial services and/or private equity-backed environments is advantageous
